Stapletonians, well-known for housing some of the largest big screen TVs in Denver, have long frustrated enterprising Auroriaites who lack transportation to reach the prime Stapleton real estate. Fortunately for the enterprising but vehicleless, RTD has come to the rescue. Buses now travel down one of Stapleton’s quietest lesser-known streets – 29th Avenue – providing riders with access to hundreds of homes with plasma TVs.

Stapletonion Creating “Top Mom in Stapleton” Bracket Challenge
Are you the greatest wife and mom in Stapleton? If not, do you know the greatest wife and mom in Stapleton? Hell, maybe you aren’t the greatest, but maybe you at least deserve to be in the discussion as a five seed.
If this describes you or someone you know, you need to enter the Stapletonion Top Mom in Stapleton Bracket. We are looking for 64 entries to compete for the Top Mom status. All entries will be seeded and matched up, and eventually judged by the Stapleton community, much like you already are, so you might as well at least make a competition out of it!
The selection committee will be looking at several attributes in its quest to narrow the field down to 64. “We have a huge task ahead of us,” said committee co-chair Mike Christin. “We know this community has so many deserving moms who are able to remain smoking hot, despite taking great care of their children.” Brother of Mike Christin, and also co-chair of the committee Brian Christin agrees. “We have been looking forward to this for a long time. But now that it is here, the stress is really hitting us. I see these moms, and I think, ‘I could barely narrow the field down to 250. And I have to get it to 64?’”
The Christin’s along with the rest of the committee will be assigning RPI rankings to the moms to decide the field along with the seedings. The elements going into the RPI include but are not limited to: hotness (heavily weighted), cooking skills, strength of work/life schedule, PTA participation, amount of drinks consumed per week (more is better), workout classes attended per week, posts on Stapleton moms (quantity and quality count), and other intangibles.
To plea your case to Mike and Brian and the rest of the committee, please send photo (recent) and bio to The Stapletonion at Stapletonion@gmail.com. Best of success to all you hard working Stapleton ladies!

Control Tower Community Arts Center to House Original Forrest City Plans
Forrest City and the Stapleton MCA are very close to releasing the final plans for the old Stapleton control tower. It appears that the space will be used for a community arts center which will allow for plays, productions, recitals, rehearsals, etc. It is not completely certain how this will be laid out, but it appears the center is the way things are headed.
With the exterior far from being designed, it is too difficult to begin speculating what the interior will look like, but many are suggesting that it will definitely have a theme to it. “We want to make sure people remember what the facility was originally used for,” says MCA President Liza Kampstra. “This means, we will have photos and relics from back when it was an airport. There are a lot of cool things we can do with it in this regard.”
Kampstra mentions that the ode to the Stapleton landmark will chronicle its history from its early days, all the way till when it started getting developed to become what the community is today. “One of the really cool things we were able to get our hands on were the original Forrest City plans for Stapleton,” says Kampstra. “They are only twelve years old, but it is really quite remarkable to see what the developer originally had in mind and know where we are at today. Just a really neat part of our history.”
The original plans show a thriving town center in the Eastbridge neighborhood, complete with an organic grocer and local pub and eatery. You can also see in the original documents a school on the corner of 26th Ave. and Iola, and next to that, a several acre green space park. The artists depictions of the bustling community also highlight great diversity, to mirror that of the city of Denver. “The vision the original developers had was quite incredible,” says Kampstra. “Although, they have had some misses, I think it is important for people to come see these when the time comes. It will put in perspective that although things didn’t turn out perfect, the vision was.” ]]>
Stapleton MCA Planning to Use Drones to Kill Prairie Dogs
Usually drones are the attacker, but recently these unmanned killing machines have come under fire themselves. It was recently reported that the White House has approved drones to kill US citizens abroad that were deemed terrorists. This did not sit well with human rights activists, mostly because Americans are more humane than other nationalities, and therefore, American terrorists should be afforded more rights.
Stapleton MCA President Liza Kampstra followed the story, and instead of getting caught up in the politics of it, saw an angle that may help the local community. “We have tried so many things to get rid of the prairie dogs,” said Kampstra. “We have tried poisoning them, we have opened them up for hunting, and several other not yet to be declassified measures to limit, or eliminate the vermin. Nothing has worked.”

William Roberts Elementary to be Renamed
The Denver Board of Education announced today that William Roberts Elementary School was to be renamed Billy Bob’s School of Education. A member of the Board, Jason Clinton, said that the move was intended to make the school seem more urban and less patrician. Said Mr. Clinton, “We want the school to have a more urban vibe – you know – more cool or hip or funky or whatever the kids say nowadays.” He added that “We at Stapleton are very hip really. We can do the Macarena with Gangnam style.”

Staff Writer One Responds to Forrest City Threat
Staff Writer One recently received an angry email over a recent article regarding the broken promises of the giant development company. “I personally, and we at The Stapletonion, will not be bullied,” said Staff Writer One. “They let me know in no unspecific terms that I was going to regret a recent piece of journalism. I am here to say that I am not frightened by this, and we stand more steadfast as proponents of the first amendment than ever.” [Read more…] about Staff Writer One Responds to Forrest City Threat
Pioneering Family First Stapleton Residents to Eat at Quebec Square Country Kitchen
There are dozens of stores and restaurants in the Quebec Square area. Stores offer shoppers and diners a variety of choices. Some Quebec Square restaurants are frequented by Stapleton residents such as Jimmy Johns, Smashburger and Buffalo Wild Wings. Other places are not as frequented, such as Arbys, Panda Express and Golden Spoon.
But at some point a Stapleton resident has eaten, shopped, or had services done at every Quebec Square shop. That is, except one. Until last week, no Stapleton resident had taken a bite of food at the Quebec Square Country Kitchen. “I am not sure what they even serve,” said resident Brandon Stone. “I am pretty sure it is all you can eat, which is really not the kind of place we want to be bringing our family.” “I think it has country food, like mashed potatoes and meat,” guessed resident Jay Stagemeyer. “I mean it sounds good, but all you can eat? I can’t imagine you can sneak a lot of quality into an all you can eat meal.”

Front Porch Under Fire for Publishing Individual CSAP Scores
Historically, The Front Porch has published the cumulative, average CSAP scores of the three public elementary schools in the Stapleton community. This year, the publication may have gone a little too far in the eyes of many parents. “I think it is important for people in the community to see where students are at as a whole at each school,” said Westerly Creek parent Leah Morningstar. “It can help other parents in making decisions on where they want their child to go to school, and most importantly, gives bragging rights to the parents and people involved with the winning school. But, publishing the actual scores of each student along with their parent’s names, is just a bit intrusive.”
