Eastbridge Town Center to be Rezoned as “Industrial”
The Stapletonion has recently uncovered unreleased Forrest City documents which show that the previously promised town center in Eastbridge is now being pushed by Forrest City to be zoned as industrial. Phone messages left for President Phil Dargossi at Forrest City went unreturned.
Eastbridge resident Marc Travillian is extremely disappointed in this new development. “We moved here five years ago, and at that time a town center was supposed to be coming within six months,” remarked Travillian. “We had hoped for maybe a pub, a grocery store, and possibly other boutiques. Instead we have a car wash and now a dental practice.”

Mythbusters Busts Myth of Stapleton Homes “Starting in the Low 200’s”
Stapleton has once again made primetime after Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman of the popular cable TV series Mythbusters were called to bust the myth of Stapleton homes available for around $200,000. “We received several emails from residents and potential buyers saying they had seen signs that stated the sale of homes for that amount,” said Savage. “The research from our staff did not support such claims. So, we decided it would be a good myth to head out and bust.”

Block with Same Sex Couples Disappointed in Lack of Diversity
Married same-sex couple Mike and Scott Andreasen moved to Stapleton for the same reason many others have. They wanted to raise a family and give their children the best opportunities they could give them. They love their Infinity home and for the most part, enjoy the Stapleton community. The one thing they have been disappointed in in regards to their immediate neighborhood is a lack of diversity. “When we moved here, we were hoping to have a variety of different people as neighbors,” says Scott. “Don’t get me wrong, we love our gay neighbors, we were just hoping to have some heteros around here.”

Swigert-McAuliffe changes name to Swigert-McAuliffe-Anderson-Romanenko-Tereshkova or The SMART School
After some complaints that the Swigert-McAuliffe name was too long and difficult to easily remember, school leaders at Stapleton’s newest school have decided to rename it The Swigert-McAuliffe-Anderson-Romanenko-Tereshkova International School. Jeffrey McNeill, Chairman of the school’s Collaborative Steering Committee said that school leaders came to the decision after a 2 hour and 53 minute meeting in which 2 Board members fell asleep. Several options were discussed at length after the Board came to a final decision on the new name. “We just finally said, “Hey, if people are having some trouble with the Swigert-McAuliffe, oh, wait, is it McAuliffe-Swigert? name – then we figured that we’d just take it a step further and come up with a much longer name that spells something. I mean, more letters and names is good, right?”

Tantrums Up 240%, Beatings Up Only 38%
The summer brings warmer weather, more sun, late nights, and of course, children getting all out of sorts. During the school year, kids have a very set schedule. They go to bed at a certain time, wake up at a certain time, have a regular regiment at school, and then go to their after-school activities. When summer comes, parents allow kids to stay up later and kids are then going to an exhausting day camp, followed by a late afternoon at the pool. All of this wears kids down, and essentially causes crabbiness and tantrums.
“Children, just like adults, get tired and then get moody,” says child psychologist Dr. Jeremy Mattison. “But unlike most adults, children feel the only way to express this exhaustion is through throwing a fit or tantrum.” Dr. Mattison says that there is only one way to stop these tantrums and that is by disciplining them. “Too many times parents are afraid to discipline their children when they throw a fit,” says Dr. Mattison. “The truth is, the only way for kids to learn is through a good whooping.”

Bungee Boot Camp Not as Thrilling as it Sounds
When Joshua Clark signed up for Bungee Boot Camp on the Green, he had much different expectations. “I thought it was something that was going to involve preparing to bungee jump,” says Clark. “Then I thought at the end we would all bungee jump off of something, maybe even the tower.” Turns out Bungee Boot Camp is actually a fitness boot camp that helps people get into shape.
