When Joshua Clark signed up for Bungee Boot Camp on the Green, he had much different expectations. “I thought it was something that was going to involve preparing to bungee jump,” says Clark. “Then I thought at the end we would all bungee jump off of something, maybe even the tower.” Turns out Bungee Boot Camp is actually a fitness boot camp that helps people get into shape.
“Sure, I got a great workout,” remarks Clark. “But it certainly wasn’t the thrill and excitement I was looking for at 8:30 in the morning.” Bungee Boot Camp instructor Jeff Jones never intended to mislead anyone. “We were aware that a lot of people think of bungee jumping when they hear the word ‘bungee,’” says Jones. “We simply thought adding the words ‘boot camp’ would be enough to explain what we were doing.”
The Boot Camp is designed to challenge participants by using bungee cords to help individuals achieve their goals in weight loss, stamina, strength, endurance, and improved balance. “The class was totally fine, and I will probably go again,” says Clark. “I still feel a little duped, however.”
Stapleton residents can attend a class on the Green on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30AM or 6PM. You do not necessarily need to have your will and testament in order prior to coming to class, as accidents or miscalculations at the Bungee Boot Camp have never caused death. ]]>
