It was a late night on August 3rd when Becky Logan finally succumbed to the pressure. “A bunch of girls in the neighborhood were sitting around on a friend’s porch talking,” recalls Becky. “All they talked about was CrossFit. I didn’t even understand most of the things they were talking about. There were a lot of acronyms, weird phrases, and terminology. I really felt left out.”

Thirty Percent of Original Stapleton Residents Were Actors
Have you ever thought that Stapleton was perfect? Maybe a little too perfect? Turns out that of the first 500 Stapleton residents, roughly 30% were actors. Forest City recently released hundreds of contractual agreements with actors and actresses who agreed to live in Stapleton for a decade pretending to be something they were not. The actors would receive free housing and have their home bills paid for a period of ten years provided they play the part of a perfect Stapleton family. One of the conditions of the agreement was that they would not be able to disclose the information until after ten years. Since that time has passed, many of the original actors have started telling their stories.

Forest City on Affordable Housing: “You Were Serious About That?”
Forest City has long been criticized for not following through on its’ affordable housing plan laid out in the green book. At this time, they are only at half the percentage of affordable homes originally promised. “We will get there,” said Forest City President Phil Dargossi. “You have to understand, we have only had ten years to get to the number. Give us another ten, and we will get there.”
Dargossi mentions that they have made an effort to put affordable housing in Stapleton, but the higher end homes bring in more money. “It is much better for us financially to continue to build upper income housing,” says Dargossi. “If there was only a way for us to make the same amount of money and build affordable housing, we would totally do it.” Forest City has made some efforts to create affordable housing in Stapleton which include:
- Urban Homes in Conservatory Green
- Houseboats in Bluff Lake
