North Eastbridge Changing Name to Prison View Estates

August 13, 2013 by admin

Forest City is changing the name of the Eastbridge area north of MLK to Prison View Estates. “We think it classes up the area to have “Estates” in the name,” said Forest City Spokesperson Janelle Ayers. “It makes the residents sound more important than residents in other parts Stapleton.” PV Estates resident, Kevin Gaies says “We need to differentiate ourselves from the Eastbridge area south of the Rec Center. Since Forest City can’t guarantee our home values won’t be affected by the opening of Fulton Street, we want to distance ourselves from the Eastbridge name. Estates gives the aura of a gated community. We think the perception of a gated area in Stapleton will help to further isolate us. Furthermore, by abbreviating to PV, we downplay the proximity of the prison to Stapleton.” “Everyone is aware that we recently opened our newest neighborhood, Conservatory Green,” said Ayers. “In a way, we are having kind of a re-grand opening for Prison View Estates. We are very excited about it, and we think the residents are pleased as well.” The new name is already attracting more interest to the area. “I live in old Eastbridge,” said resident Mike Murphy. “We are definitely looking to see if something fits our needs at the Prison View Estates. We are trying to get out of Eastbridge before all these through streets (to Aurora) are completed.” At this time, Forest City does not plan to change anything at the new Prison View Estates neighborhood. “We think the only thing that needed to be changed was the name,” said Ayers. “The name change will continue to allow this section of what used to be Eastbridge thrive.” ]]>
