Family Pins Down Spring Schedule Just in Time for Summer

June 9, 2016 by admin

busy springThe Greiert family includes three kids with a plethora of sporting activities as well as dance and music activities. These spring programs keep parents Michelle and Jay running around making sure to get kids picked up and dropped off at different days, times and locations. “Spring is definitely crazy for us,” said Michelle. “Baseball is twice a week, soccer is twice a week plus a game on Saturdays, and then there is dance class, piano lessons, and the recitals for those. It makes for a crazy weekly calendar.” [Read more…] about Family Pins Down Spring Schedule Just in Time for Summer

“Manliest Guy at Pool” Contest Officially Begins

June 9, 2016 by admin

manliest guy at poolThe Stapleton summer puts pool season in full effect. The pools are mostly known for the constant sounds of kids playing in the water and of course, the hot Stapleton moms. Often overshadowed are the Stapleton men, who are constantly scrambling for their identity in the Stapleton community. Pool season gives guys one small chance to stand out and look “manly” at the pools. “During the rest of the year, I am going to work, going to kids events, and rarely get a chance to be out in the Stapleton social scene,” said Stapleton male resident Brendan Rudee. “Even when we are out socializing in the Stapleton community, my smoking hot wife usually overshadows me. So, for at least nine months of the year, I am pretty invisible.” Stapleton dad Chris Westwick also struggles to stand out most of the year. “Maybe we go to small gatherings, or head to the Berk,” said Westwick. “But there really isn’t a chance for me to show off the kind of man I am. I mean, I keep in shape, watch sports, and have a few beers every now and again.” [Read more…] about “Manliest Guy at Pool” Contest Officially Begins

Popular Stapleton Teen Guarantees MCA “Teen Night” Won’t be Lit

June 9, 2016 by admin

teen nightEthan Palmer isn’t just any eighth grader at Bill Roberts Junior High, he’s the most popular eighth grader at the school. When Ethan talks, other kids listen. “He’s pretty much the fleekest kid in school,” said fellow eighth grader Jackson Asbee. “The guys pretty much do whatever he tells them to do just be a part of his fam, and all the girls want to be his bae. He’s had like, four girlfriends this year and all of them were completely hot. No matter what he does, it’s totally live.” Fellow classmate Abbey Steiner agrees. “Pretty much RT exactly what Jackson said. He’s cool AF,” said Steiner. “He can be salty at times, but for the most part, he’s adorbs.” With the growing teen population in Stapleton, the Stapleton MCA must offer events for this emerging group of kids. One of the first of its kind in Stapleton is the upcoming Teen Night at Runway 35. The event will be held June 18th at the Runway 35 pool in Stapleton from 7PM to 10. The teen blast will have a DJ, a diving board, glow lights, water games, and a sundae bar. Everything a Stapleton parent would be totally fine with. But how will the Stapleton teens take to this first big effort to include them in planned Stapleton events? The Stapletonion was unable to arrange time to text with Ethan as he couldn’t interrupt his already busy texting schedule. He did let us know that “glow lights aren’t all that,” and the hashtag they used “wasn’t fleek. They’re using #teenglow2k16. 2k? That’s so 2000’s.” Ethan said he is still considering going to the party just because his attendance could end up making the party “pretty sik, but I may be headed to some other kick back.” But in the end, Ethan says it’s highly unlikely anyone will be “totally obsessed” with going to the party and the glow lights definitely don’t make it “savage.” In fact, he is predicting it will be “trash.” He stopped short of saying the party would be totally lame, mostly because “no one says lame anymore, Bruh. Get woke, yo. You’re too basic.”]]>

Stapleton Named Denver’s “Drunkest” Neighborhood

May 26, 2016 by admin

stapleton drunkest neighborhoodA recent Denver University study confirmed what many Stapleton residents have known for years. Stapleton is unofficially Denver’s drunkest neighborhood. Dr. Mike Potter from Denver University said a similar methodology was used from that of Princeton Review’s Top Party Schools. Over 250,000 Denver residents completed surveys which included information regarding how often they drink, what they drink, how often they attend social gatherings, how often they drink with their neighbors, among many more questions. “We also tabulated geographic things such as number of liquor stores within a certain area and number of times Uber or cab services were used between certain hours,” said Potter. “The biggest thing we learned was that people who can afford alcohol, and have kids, drink a lot.” Residents said the study is not something to be proud of, but certainly wasn’t surprising. “Most nights you can text a neighbor about getting together for some drinks, and at least one person will respond,” said Eastbridge resident Nicole Shannon. “I think the stress of trying to keep up with the Jones’s and raising kids drives one to drink. A lot.” North Central Park resident Joe Jepsen agrees. “There are a lot of successful people in Stapleton,” says Jepsen. “And you don’t climb the corporate ladder by not being fun and not being social. Sure, you have to be smart, but being likeable is equally important. And people that drink and are social, are just more likeable.” Potter said there were certain areas where Stapleton was off the charts in respect to its comparison to other Denver neighborhoods. “One of the questions was in regards to how often you walk around your neighborhood with an open container,” said Potter. “It’s almost as if Stapleton residents have no regard for laws pertaining to drinking. 68% said they had walked around their neighborhood for more than three blocks with an open container of alcohol. Second place was Wash Park with 24%.” Potter says the study was done in good fun, and isn’t meant to promote or misrepresent a neighborhood in any way. “It was something we thought would be interesting, and would bring some PR our direction,” said Potter. “But, I will say, those Stapleton people drink a lot.” ]]>

MCA to Residents: “Stop Dumping Unsold Garage Sale Items in Creek”

May 26, 2016 by admin

people-dumping-things-in-creek-from-garage-saleThe Stapleton garage sale was this last weekend, and the streets were crowded with residents and non-residents looking to pick up great items at a low price. The Stapleton garage sale mostly serves as an opportunity for residents to do some spring cleaning, getting rid of old kids toys, clothes, and unwanted furniture to make room for the new pieces. But, buyers are often just as excited to grab these old items. “We had our stuff out on our lawn by 7:30 in the morning,” said resident Amy White. “And all the big pieces of furniture were gone by 9:15. Some people were even fighting over who got to what first. I really don’t care. I just wanted it off my property.” Although most residents experienced at least modest success at getting rid of their unwanted furniture, there were still items left behind. Stapleton Family Lets Everyone Know, “We’ll Be at OUR Place in Vail This Weekend”

May 26, 2016 by admin

family has place in vailThe Wubbenas are fairly outgoing people, and when they are headed to the mountains, they become even more outgoing. “We love Mindy and Jake,” said friend and neighbor Teresa Hays. “But, it can be a little painful when they go to their place in the mountains because it is definitely a little braggy. Yes, we know you are doing well, we know you have a place in Vail. Just say you are going to the mountains. We can fill in the blanks.” Friend Stacy Schack agrees. “She definitely likes to work it in to the conversation,” said Schack. “I won’t even ask, and she will say things like, ‘we need to get together, but I can’t this weekend because we are headed to our place in Vail.’ It’s pretty transparent that she is trying to brag about the place.” [Read more…] about Stapleton Family Lets Everyone Know, “We’ll Be at OUR Place in Vail This Weekend”

May 26, 2016 by admin

dog waste dispenser out of bagsSam Poolman is a responsible dog owner who always brings extra dog bags with him in case of any surprises, and sometimes even picks up waste from dogs whose owners weren’t quite as responsible.
