Havana Exit Opens Back Up After Adding New Speed Bumps

July 9, 2013 by admin

The infamous Havana St. Exit has reopened again after being closed for several days. Little work was done to the Smith Road and Havana intersection to improve traffic at this point, however, it does appear that two pointless speed bumps have been added to the street that passes directly by the Denver County Jail. After crossing the train tracks on the way back to Stapleton, drivers can expect to hit a couple of extra bumps that were not there previously. These bumps may be there to help remind drivers that they are getting close to Aurora, but the bumps help for other reasons as well. If you have sleeping kids and are driving home from something, the bumps will possibly wake the kids up. The Smith Road construction also seems to have created a larger shoulder for friends and family to view loved ones staying at the jail. It is uncertain at this point if all of the work done on Havana St. will ever provide an easier trip home to residents on the east side of Stapleton. ]]>
