Six to Eight Month Olds Achieve “Really Fun Age” Status

July 10, 2012 by admin

After almost a three decade struggle, the committee in charge of relegating “really fun age” status to children succumbed to the pressure of thousands of parents giving six to eight month olds the coveted status. “My daughter is now 23,” says Barbara Miller who was one of the thousands of parents petitioning for years to change the status. “I still remember when she was that age, and people saying that it was ‘kind of a tough age’ but I always thought it was really fun. So, I joined the fight.” For many parents, the long struggle was worth it. “I know it was a long time ago now,” says Nicki Boesen, mother of three teenagers. “But it was always frustrating having people question how great my kids were at that age. They were really fun.” Obviously, thousands of protesting parents agree with Nicki. However, not everyone is a fan of the newest status change for this group of kids. “It seems like in this PC society of ‘everyone gets a trophy’ we have to agree that everything is great,” says parent and Progressive Realist Davis Bean. “I mean, they didn’t do a lot at that age. Okay, you smiled. Here’s your blue ribbon. Ridiculous.” Some protestors of the change are already creating a new movement to reverse the decision. For now, the status remains says committee chairman Steve Richmond. “There are always protests trying to get ‘really fun age’ status relegated to any age,” says Richmond. “Heck, some have even started a movement to get tweens relegated as ‘really fun age.’ We listen to people’s voices, and in the end, make an educated decision on how kids are at each stage in their lives.” On behalf of chairman Richmond, congratulations six to eight month olds. You have earned it. ]]>
