In the most recent update on the Eastbridge Town Center, many of the retail shops were revealed. These included a Pilates studio, a coffee shop, home and garden retail, a restaurant, and of course, Los Chingones and the Troy Guard breakfast restaurant. But the centerpiece to the Eastbridge layout was the most imperative; the ice cream kiosk. “We did our homework,” says Evergreen Development representative Dennis Westerberg. “And, the most important thing to residents in our focus groups was an ice cream kiosk. So, during the initial design phase, we made sure that was central piece.”

Toby Keith’s Remarkably Stayed in Business for Four Years
Last month, Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill closed its Stapleton location, stunning residents. “That place was still open?” exclaimed Stapleton resident Kathy Rundall. “I think I went there once four years ago, but assumed it was out of business. Who was going there?” Resident Shawn McCall was equally surprised. “I don’t think I knew of anyone who ever went there. They just got shut down? That’s a heck of a run. Really, people were going to that bar enough to keep it open for four years? Just incredible.”

Archeologists Uncover Missing Pages of Green Book
The Green Book was the original document created to guide the development of the Stapleton community. Historians believe the document was created sometime in the early 1990’s, but they cannot be certain. “Based on historical records, documents, and artifacts, we can be pretty certain the Green Book was created sometime between 1990 and 1994,” said historian Seth Hartland. “The writing style of the document, and the fact that it uses Arial as its font, also gives us a pretty strong clue that it was sometime during that period.”

Kids in School, But Stapleton Mom Plans to Continue to be a Mom
Stapleton mom Angie Clark has been a stay at home mom for the last seven years. She has taken care of the kids day in and day out as well as being the household manager, including things such as getting groceries, doing laundry, keeping the house clean, and keeping the family schedule. Not to mention, she has stayed smoking hot. “I have really enjoyed being there for the kids, and we are lucky enough we can have one of us stay home to be there for them,” said Clark. “Truthfully, I really didn’t enjoy working my white collar job before we had kids, and taking care of my family has been significantly more rewarding than doing TPS reports.”

Homeowners with “Butler’s Pantry” Finally Get Butler
In a much anticipated move, the Morris family finally hired a butler to go with their butler’s pantry in their elegant Parkwood Home. “We have been waiting to do this for years,” said Timothy Morris. “Our house felt incomplete. But now, with Alfred, we finally feel like our house is the home we always thought it could be.” Although Alfred does not live in the home, he works from noon to 8 every day. “He’s not a nanny, and he’s not a housecleaner,” remarked Timothy. “So, we still have those duties that we are handling or hiring out for. He helps prepare lunches, of course dinners, and gets drinks for us and guests at dinner parties. He’s like family to us, but we treat him like a butler. It just gives the house the regal “Parkwood feel” we always wanted.”

Stapleton Moms Excited for Fall Wardrobes
Fall is here, and most Stapleton moms couldn’t be more excited. “I’m so sick of my summer clothes,” said North Central Park mom Nikki Steiner. “This gives me a chance to revisit my fall clothes from last year, and more importantly, buy some new cute things.” Stacey Southall agrees. “New seasons bring new fashions and new colors,” said Southall. “Of course, I wear yoga pants a lot, but there are so many events to go to in the fall with fundraisers, and fall is a great time to go out with the girls.” The main 2015 fall fashion trends for women seem to be boots, skirts, thin scarves, comfortable shoes, and a little bit of bling.

Fifteen Years Later, Stapleton Finally Prices Everyone Out
It took much longer than Forest City had planned, but Stapleton was finally able to price everyone out of the community. “We had a big celebration at the corporate offices,” said Forest City spokesperson Janelle Ayers. “This has been a long time coming, and it has been really neat seeing the entire thing unfold. Just a big, big accomplishment for us.” Ayers said there was a time Forest City was concerned they would never get to this point. “We definitely remember the dark days, when houses were being built and sold like hot cakes,” said Ayers. “A lot of people, including some in this building, thought we would never get to the point we are at today. It’s really an incredible story of perseverance.”
Ayers said the point they knew they had priced everyone out was pretty surreal. “We caught wind of the story of a doctor and a lawyer with no kids who were looking to find a home in Stapleton. But, they were unable to find something in Stapleton they could afford. That’s when we knew we had done it. That’s when we knew we had officially created an ungated, gated community.” Forest City will continue to build new homes in their new neighborhoods, but they feel they have created an environment where only the super wealthy will be able to move in. “The only people who can move here now are the uber-wealthy, which is totally fine with us. We just want to make sure we aren’t getting commoners who make $250,000 a year or less. We’re actually hoping those types of people who live here now will sell and move to a more suitable neighborhood for their type.”
Ayers says Forest City does not have complete control over the housing market, but they are doing things to manipulate the housing costs in Stapleton. “We don’t give away our trade secrets,” said Ayers. “But let’s just say the housing market in Stapleton will continue to increase for quite some time.” Stapleton homeowners have mixed feelings about the housing situation. “I guess I am happy I have a valuable home,” said owner Josh Miller. “But I don’t necessarily want to live in a community with a bunch of rich, snobby dicks.” Dave Peterson agrees. “I don’t love my increasing property tax,” said Peterson. “Sure, it is nice to have some equity in a home, but is it at the cost of having an even less socioeconomically diverse community? I’d prefer not.” Forest City plans to continue its celebration daily as home prices continue to skyrocket to unreasonable costs. ]]>
Stanley Continues to Build Architectural Plans
The Stanley project unveiled their most recent architectural plans last week, and project leaders say they plan to continue to build designs through the fall of 2017. “We continue to improve upon our layouts and designs,” said Stanley project leader Mitchell Roberts. “We hope to have the final build of the plans completed by October 2017. After that, we will begin construction at the facility.” The latest design features open market space, beer gardens, event space, retail space, including several great retailers. “Our latest designs are really great,” said Roberts. “Almost to the point where we think we could start building it tomorrow. But Rome wasn’t built in a day, and why not continue to improve on these great designs we have going. Each day we start over, and build new architectural plans.”
