Toby Keith’s Remarkably Stayed in Business for Four Years

October 7, 2015 by admin

toby keith's closingLast month, Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill closed its Stapleton location, stunning residents. “That place was still open?” exclaimed Stapleton resident Kathy Rundall. “I think I went there once four years ago, but assumed it was out of business. Who was going there?” Resident Shawn McCall was equally surprised. “I don’t think I knew of anyone who ever went there. They just got shut down? That’s a heck of a run. Really, people were going to that bar enough to keep it open for four years? Just incredible.” The “restaurant” and bar closed its doors September 14th due to “an almost unbelievable lack of business,” according to bar manager Timothy Vogel. “We had this huge 22,000 square foot space,” said Vogel. “Dance floor, place for live music, plenty of seating, big screen TVs, everything. We had it all.” Except, of course, the customers. “The food was below average for bar food, and the wait staff was typical of Northfield wait staffs, well below average,” said one-time Keith’s customer Zach Glynn. “Are you sure that didn’t close in September 2013? I’m just having a hard time believing they stayed open that long.” The giant empty space will certainly be hard to fill for Northfield Mall management. “We have seen this coming for a long time,” said Director of Leasing at Northfield Mall Tom Madison. “I can’t believe they hung on that long. I mean, we had places lined up, ready for them to bow out, but somehow, they kept it together. So, we already have some prospects who are interested.” Madison says they don’t have any immediate lessors, but parties interested include a warehousing company, a laser tag event company, as well as a trampoline park. “We are confident we will put yet another ringer in the Northfield mall,” said Madison. “But this time, customers will actually go there.” ]]>
