Parents Sean and Nicole have a five year old son, Jacob, and a three year old daughter, Keira, and love spoiling them. \u201cEvery year, I think I am done buying things for them, and then I\u2019ll see something else that I just have to get them,\u201d said Nicole. \u201cIt\u2019s just so fun to see how excited they get to open presents and how much they enjoy playing with a new toy, even for just a short time.\u201d The parents estimate they spent about $700 on gifts last year for the kids, and aunts, uncles, and grandparents probably spent another $200. \u201cThey get doted on pretty good,\u201d said Sean. It is pretty ridiculous how much they have historically received during the season.\u201d But, the parents promise this year is going to be different. \u201cWe realize we are spending way too much money on them,\u201d said Nicole. \u201cEspecially for these ages. I mean, they only end up playing with most of the stuff for a very short time. And, they <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/posts\/stapleton-five-year-old-already-outgrowing-new-fcking-pajamas\/\" target=\"_blank\">grow out of their clothes<\/a> pretty quick.\u201d Sean agrees things need to change. \u201cWe definitely plan to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/2009086199339602\/\" target=\"_blank\">give more<\/a> this year,\u201d said Sean. \u201cI mean, five and three year olds don\u2019t need that much stuff, right?\u201d Nicole understands it is going to be tough to not buy every cute clothing item and cool toy. \u201cI already have agreed to cap myself at a certain amount, and then I am done,\u201d said Nicole. \u201cSo, for every time I see something, I think, \u2018is that great enough to go against my total allowance?\u2019 If not, I have to move on.\u201d Nicole says she has a strong network of friends who are going to help support her during this challenge. \u201cThis is going to be really hard for me,\u201d said Nicole. \u201cBut, it\u2019s the right thing to do.
