Thrivent Homes has begun allowing tours of their new model home on 26th Ave. near Isabella Bird Elementary, and so far, potential buyers are unimpressed. \u201cWe have toured other existing models and some that are being built throughout Stapleton,\u201d said potential buyer Ken Rochford. \u201cI mean, it is one level, and I\u2019m not sure the exact square footage, but it\u2019s not very much. I\u2019m actually shocked Forest City<\/a>. I\u2019m really unenthusiastic about this new model.\u201d Craig Wharton is also looking to buy in Stapleton and has no interest in the new Thrivent model. \u201cIt\u2019s small, unimaginative, and it\u2019s not like it compensates with yard space. It doesn\u2019t seem they will be allowing much yard space either.\u201d Thrivent spokesperson Jessica Hartley says Thrivent designs all of their homes with a purpose. \u201cWe definitely took into account the growing Stapleton market and the demands of people to live here,\u201d said Hartley. \u201cIt seems that people just want to be in Stapleton, so there is really no need for a lot of fancy, unnecessary design work. Besides, this way people can use their own imaginations and make their own creation. With some of our homes, we do all the work for you. With this new design, people are forced to be creative.\u201d For the most part, buyers don\u2019t agree with Hartley, but they do agree the houses will sell. \u201cI\u2019m not going to buy it, but someone will,\u201d said Wharton. \u201cPeople are fighting to get into Stapleton, so they\u2019ll buy whatever they can find and afford. It\u2019s crazy.\u201d So maybe Thrivent\u2019s new home design isn\u2019t so crazy after all.
