As Stanley continues to draw large crowds, especially on weekends, finding a close parking spot becomes more and more challenging. The weather hasn\u2019t quite changed to spring biking and walking weather, so many Stanley shoppers are driving who may eventually ride or walk when the weather warms up. \u201cWe normally will be riding there,\u201d said Eastbridge resident Nicole Berry. \u201cBut, at night, the temperature still drops a little, it\u2019s a little dark for the kids, etc. So, for now, we have been driving.\u201d Mike Paterson is in the same boat. \u201cWe live right there in Westerly Creek, so normally we will be walking or riding,\u201d said Paterson. \u201cIt\u2019s just been a little too chilly for me recently, so I have been parking over there.\u201d Stanley regulars warn drivers that if they plan to drive, they should plan to get there early. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe usually get there by five on Friday nights,\u201d said Ellen Wiley, a Stanley regular. \u201cBut, last week, we didn\u2019t get there until about 6:30. We ended up parking pretty far away on street parking.\u201d Scott Stolz had a similar experience. \u201cWe drove around waiting for someone to leave to find a spot,\u201d said Stolz. \u201cEventually, we ended up right back at our place<\/a>. It so happens that was the closest spot.\u201d Stanley isn\u2019t close to replicating the Cherry Creek \u2018smart parking\u201d disaster<\/a> and management believes warm weather will significantly change the parking situation. \u201cLots of people will be biking here,\u201d said owner Chris Penningroth. \u201cThis will free up a lot of those spots, and parking will become much less cramped.\u201d Until the warm weather arrives, residents are encouraged to head out to Stanley early to find a spot a few hundred yards closer than their garages.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
