With the Stanley Marketplace open and in full swing, residents from all over Stapleton are heading out to check out Stapleton\u2019s new shopping options, including great places like Steele Angel<\/a>, Velvet Wolf<\/a>, Trunk Nouveau<\/a>, Sterre<\/a>, Goose & the Goat<\/a>, and Poppy & Pine<\/a>. Residents also look forward to the opening of True<\/a> and Zero Market Zero Market<\/a> which happen this week. The unique stores are of course a great addition to the community, but residents have been coming over in droves for the food and drink. Annette<\/a> has opened with great reviews and the Denver Biscuit Company\u2019s<\/a> opening has been a big success. The Stanley Beer Hall<\/a> and Comida<\/a> continue to draw large crowds as well. Residents who enjoy craft beer are often ordering food from Yellowbelly Chicken<\/a> and bringing it over to Cheluna<\/a> to enjoy some beverages with their meals. After dinner, people often head over to Sweet Cow<\/a> for some ice cream or to Miette et Chocolat<\/a> for some\u00a0decadent desserts. Overall, residents feel Stanley is living up to its hype. \u201cWe have gone almost every weekend,\u201d says resident John Lighthall. \u201cIt\u2019s just a relaxing, enjoyable experience. You almost feel like you are on vacation, but without the drive and crappy hotels.\u201d Molly Strassburg agrees. \u201cI love seeing all the boutique shops in there. Lots of great things. And we are never disappointed with our meals.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

No neighborhood appreciates the Stanley opening as much as the residents of Eastbridge. \u201cIt\u2019s awesome to have a place so walkable or that you can ride your bikes to,\u201d said Eastbridge resident Kelly Thompson. \u201cDefinitely has changed how we eat, drink, and shop in a very short time,\u201d agreed Kris Southall. Along with all the positives, the residents of Eastbridge are seeing one major drawback, however. \u201cI am absolutely gaining weight,\u201d said resident Nicole Hartley. \u201cIt\u2019s so convenient and delicious; we have been going over there too much and overindulging. I hope I can stop myself, but it\u2019s not looking good.\u201d Shane White is noticing the same thing. \u201cI haven\u2019t changed anything in my workouts or much of anything when eating at home,\u201d says White. \u201cBut, we have been going over to Stanley for food and drinks a lot, and I am noticing the weight coming on.\u201d To make matters worse for Eastbridge residents, because of their close proximity to the marketplace, when people come to see them, they naturally want to go to the Stanley. \u201cWhen our friends from the north side<\/a> come over to see us, of course they want to go check out Stanley,\u201d said David Grossman. \u201cSo, naturally we end up over there any time someone comes over.\u201d The weight gain has become so common, it is being dubbed \u2018The Stanley Seven\u2019 indicating the seven pounds you are going to gain from living near the Stanley. Many of those affected don\u2019t have plans to stop going to The Stanley, however. \u201cI\u2019m an addict at this point,\u201d says Hartley. \u201cI may try to increase my steps, or maybe decrease desserts elsewhere, but I\u2019m not going to stop going.\u201d White agrees. \u201cIf I have to do lunges the entire walk over to burn those calories, I\u2019m going to do it. It\u2019s just not worth it to not eat there.\u201d The Stanley seven is a reality, but the other reality is, you\u2019re just not going to stop going there.
