The Fredricks and Jackson couples have known each other for a long time, seeing each other at various gatherings such as school fundraisers, holiday parties, or just running into each other at the Berk<\/a>. They always have a fun, easy-going conversations, and appear to have a lot in common. \u201cWe always thought they seemed so nice and fun,\u201d said Julie Fredricks. \u201cYou could just tell they were good people.\u201d The Jacksons feel the same way about the Fredricks. \u201cGreat sense of humor,\u201d said Mike Jackson. \u201cWe are always trying to find fun couples to hang out with, and you could tell they were fun.\u201d The couples would talk and laugh, and when they had to leave, they always ended the conversation the same way; \u201cwe need to get together sometime.\u201d These conversations happened every time they saw each other over the years, and every time they would again say, \u201cwe need to get together sometime.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

But, as it is for most people with kids and responsibilities, the couples never got together. \u201cWe would think about asking them, then we would realize the kids have something going on, or we were leaving town,\u201d said Shawn Fredricks. \u201cIt was always something.\u201d Kelly Jackson also says timing was the main issue. \u201cOur kids are slightly different ages, so figuring that out, we knew would be tough,\u201d says Jackson. \u201cIt just seems like there was always something going on, so we just weren\u2019t able to motivate to make it happen.\u201d Two weeks ago, however, the Fredricks and Jacksons finally got together. \u201cWe had so much fun,\u201d said Julie. \u201cWe went out to The Stanley<\/a> and ate at Comida<\/a> then had some beers at Cheluna<\/a>. We had a blast.\u201d Mike says his only regret is that they didn\u2019t get together sooner. \u201cI really wish we would have made this happen a long time ago,\u201d said Mike. \u201cBut, better late than never.\u201d Shawn says the couples already plan to get together again in a few weeks. \u201cWe\u2019re going to make sure we don\u2019t wait another six years.
