Well, it\u2019s finally here<\/a>. Restaurants and shops in the Stanley Marketplace<\/a> are open. \u201cWe are excited to announce we are open for business,\u201d project leader Mitchell Roberts announced last month. \u201cThis is phase one of our opening with several places opening up now, and we expect to soon have almost 50 different businesses open for food, booze, retail, fitness, and other services. This is happening, people.\u201d Those who have been to Stanley are extremely pleased with what they have seen. \u201cIt\u2019s a really cool atmosphere,\u201d said resident Brian Uker. \u201cAnd they are just getting started. When they get everything in there, it is going to be even better.\u201d Resident Josh Barrett agrees. \u201cI think it\u2019s great now, but when the weather gets nice enough to ride or walk there, it\u2019s going to be fantastic,\u201d said Barrett. \u201cDid you know that at Cheluna<\/a>, you can have them can you a beer to go? That\u2019s a real thing. They can it, right in front of you, and you take it with you.\u201d Residents have been impressed with the food choices as well. \u201cWe have eaten at Comida<\/a> a few times and really enjoyed it,\u201d said Lori Young. \u201cFood is great, and it is a hip environment, but still family friendly.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The Stanley Beer Hall<\/a> is already gaining a following. \u201cThey have a lot of delicious, unique offerings on their menu,\u201d said resident Jeff Street. \u201cBeer was tasty as well.\u201d Anne Swarbrick says her family enjoyed their experience at Yellowbellow Chicken<\/a> which offers a wide range of chicken and healthy sides. \u201cIt\u2019s healthy, fast, and economical,\u201d said Swarbrick. Plus, we can bring it over to Cheluna and enjoy a beer with it.\u201d Stanley patrons can now grab some ice cream after dinner at Sweet Cow<\/a>. The biggest concern with the project all along has been the willingness of Stapleton residents to drive into Aurora to go there. \u201cWe knew it was going to be challenging to get Stapleton residents to venture out of the 80238 and into an Aurora ZIP,\u201d said Roberts. \u201cWe have done our best to make the Marketplace itself a comfortable environment for 80238\u2019ers, but not at the expense of our mission<\/a>. So far it seems like it hasn\u2019t been the issue we thought it might be.\u201d \u201cIt was something we weren\u2019t excited about at first,\u201d said Uker. \u201cWe for sure use Aurora to drive through, but typically don\u2019t stop somewhere. However, it\u2019s been great and not an issue at all.\u201d Street agrees. \u201cThe way we looked at it is that we already bring our cars to Amina<\/a>, so what\u2019s the big deal about driving another block?\u201d Swarbrick says time is really the biggest factor. \u201cI mean, you\u2019re really only driving in Aurora for about three minutes,\u201d said Swarbrick. \u201cOnce you get to Stanley, you totally forget about it.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
