The ground war between rival gangs to control the Stapleton area, essentially anything East of Quebec, West of Havana, and North of Montview and South of 56th, is beginning to heat up. \u201cDenver gangs see the Stapleton area as a huge opportunity to move into emerging markets in the world of organized crime,\u201d said DPD Gang Task Force Agent Kevin Klingman. \u201cOne of the main reasons for this is all of the black market trading already going on on sites like Stapleton Swap<\/a>. They know there is money to be had here.\u201d\n\nRival gangs are interested in controlling the emerging market of used children\u2019s clothes. One gang member opened up to The Stapletonion on condition of anonymity. \u201cIt\u2019s like this, holmes. People here are buying mad amounts of used kids clothing. People that aren\u2019t, well, they be buying it soon. So, we want to be the ones who give them that first taste. The ones to be disturbutin.\u2019\u201d Gangs have become more and more technologically savvy, and they keep their eyes open to new opportunities. \u201cWe\u2019ve been watching (Stapleton) Swap now for a while. We talkin\u2019 tens of thousands of dollars in transactions. We gotta get a piece.\u201d The gangs are correct. The resale market in Stapleton is a large piece of pie. According to estimates provided to us by Stapleton Swap, that pie could be worth between two and five hundred thousand dollars a year. \u201cWe want to get in on transactional business,\u201d said the gang member. \u201cThat\u2019s where the easy money at.\u201d \u201cTagging\u201d is simply a gang\u2019s way to let other gangs know this is their territory.
