Train Noise Gonna Be Here Awhile"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<![CDATA[<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Train-Horns-300x169.jpeg\" alt=\"train-horns\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-6658\" \/>The RTD General Manager held a <a href=\"https:\/\/frontporchstapleton.com\/article\/rtd-says-line-train-horns-continue-several-months\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">press conference<\/a> this week announcing the <a href=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/posts\/park-hill-to-stapleton-train-horn-not-as-irritating-as-jet-engines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">train horn<\/a> will be blowing possibly until the <a href=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/posts\/soopers-opening-delayed-until-june-eastbridge-residents-simultaneously-shout-fck\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eastbridge Town Center is completed<\/a>.  \u201cIt has to do with a bunch of safety blah, blah,\u201d said RTD GM Dave Genova.  \u201cIt\u2019s super complicated, involves federal regulations, the Federal Railway Administration, engineering, and a bunch of other things you non-transport types won\u2019t understand,\u201d said Genova.  \u201cWe are doing whatever we can, so just be patient and don\u2019t ask questions about things you don\u2019t understand and have no ideas of how to solve it.  Thank you.\u201d  Stapleton resident Sam Jepsen looks forward to several more months of the train horn.  \u201cIt just makes me feel like we are living in the city,\u201d said Jepsen.  \u201cI love hearing the train horns.\u201d\n<!--more-->\nSome Stapleton residents are discouraged by the news.  \u201cI suppose if you live a couple miles away from the train, it is cool to hear the horn off in the distance,\u201d said Central Park resident Amanda Tims.  \u201cBut if you live a quarter of a mile from it, it is extremely loud, and gets really annoying.\u201d  Doug Groth has a similar opinion.  \u201cDo they have to be that loud,\u201d asks Groth.  \u201cIt\u2019s not traveling at the speed of light.  There are plenty of signs and people around, the horn can be taken down a few decibels, right?\u201d  According to regulations, they cannot.  Whether you like the horns or don\u2019t like the horns, that train keeps a movin\u2019.
