Last Thursday, early in the morning, an alarm went off and items were taken from the store, including hunting rifles, a shotgun, and other items. The news would not be so shocking, except this time, it was NOT Walmart. The Northfield Bass Pro Shops was broken into, and alarms went off around 2:30 in the morning. “It’s really scary,” said resident Jeff Shaner. “We expect this kind of crime on our streets and garages, and of course, our Walmart, but not our beloved Bass Pro Shops. It needs to stop.”

Residents were not concerned so much about the items stolen, but more about from where the items were stolen. “I heard guns were taken,” said resident Chad Ditchman. “But really, what else would you be stealing from there. It’d be pretty hard to get out of there with a boat, I suppose.” Brendan Scott is concerned about the quality of the guns. “I mean, someone steals a gun from Walmart, it’s probably 50/50 it’s going to work anyway,” said Scott. “But, you steal a gun from Bass Pro, that’s probably going to be a high quality item, with no misfires. That’s scary.” Residents also fear criminals are getting chancier with the latest crime spree. “I mean, who doesn’t think they could pull off a robbery at the Walmart?” asks Ditchman. “But, one would think Bass Pro would have the latest in alarms, and maybe even a night watchman. The store is full of guns, come to think of it, why don’t they have a night watchman?” Bass Pro Shops spokesperson Jamie Parker says having a Walmart so close made them less concerned about security. “Typically, if there’s a Walmart around, people ignore us and burgle that,” said Parker. “We are looking into our options moving forward, but never thought it would come to this.”

[33

0":"post-6254","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-issue-124","7":"entry
["GET
