The new group, Prairie Dog Devastation Liberation Effort of Stapleton (PDDLES), is led by Eastbridge Resident, Dawn Ross.\n&#8220;Forest City claims there are so many prairie dog populations in and around Denver, that it is not practical or necessary to relocate our <a href=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/posts\/residents-to-receive-stuffed-prairie-dog-from-26th-ave-park\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stapleton Prairie dogs<\/a>,&#8221; says Ross. &#8220;They propose to exterminate them instead.\u201d\n<!--more-->\nPDDLES has been formed to raise funds, either to privately relocate the prairie dogs or create a local reserve somewhere in the area where they can continue to live in peace.\n\u201cThis slaughter of our local <a href=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/posts\/prairie-dogs-remind-residents-%E2%80%9Cwe-have-rights-too%E2%80%9D\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">prairie dogs<\/a> is inhumane,\u201d says Ross, a strong proponent of a prairie dog reserve. \u201cWe need to protect our own &#8211; I mean, once a Stapleton resident, always a Stapleton resident, right?\u201d\n A key part of PDDLES&#8217; fundraising will be a 2016 <a href=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/posts\/call-to-arms-bluff-lake-seeks-bounty-hunters-to-kill-prairie-dogs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Prairie Dogs of Stapleton<\/a> calendar and Ross is unperturbed by claims of plagiarism.\n&#8220;Yes, of course we are borrowing the concept from the MCA&#8217;s Dogs of Stapleton calendar,&#8221; says Ross. &#8220;Why come up with anything new when there is something so successful we can piggyback on?&#8221;\nThe calendar shows 12 individual <a href=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/posts\/stapleton-family-has-successful-thanksgiving-morning-prairie-dog-hunt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">prairie dogs<\/a> from different populations around Stapleton, doing what comes naturally to prairie dogs.\n&#8220;The <a href=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/posts\/they%E2%80%99re-baaaaack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">prairie dogs<\/a> turned out to be quite remarkable subjects,&#8221; says photographer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pilcherphotography.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Laura McDonald<\/a>, who, like the other two photographers involved, donated her time to the group. &#8220;Their activities are really quite fascinating and once they got used to the camera, it almost seemed like they were cooperating.&#8221;\nPDDLES anticipates that the calendar will be at least as successful as the Dogs Of Stapleton calendar, but also warns the content may not be quite as family friendly.\n&#8220;Miss March, in particular, proved to be really quite alluring when it came to posing in front of the camera lens,&#8221; says McDonald. &#8220;It\u2019s not a calendar I would be hanging in my child&#8217;s bedroom.&#8221;]]>\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<![CDATA[]]>\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_coblocks_attr":"","_coblocks_dimensions":"","_coblocks_responsive_height":"","_coblocks_accordion_ie_support":"","_genesis_hide_title":false,"_genesis_hide_breadcrumbs":false,"_genesis_hide_singular_image":false,"_genesis_hide_footer_widgets":false,"_genesis_custom_body_class":"","_genesis_custom_post_class":"","_genesis_layout":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[25],"tags":[],"class_list":{"0":"post-6041","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-issue-117","7":"entry"},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/6041","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=6041"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/6041\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=6041"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=6041"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=6041"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
