{"id":5868,"date":"2015-08-19T22:04:54","date_gmt":"2015-08-20T05:04:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/?p=5868"},"modified":"2015-08-19T22:04:54","modified_gmt":"2015-08-20T05:04:54","slug":"havana-st-to-undergo-constructionagain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/?p=5868","title":{"rendered":"Havana St. to Undergo Construction\u2026Again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<![CDATA[<a href=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Havana-Exit-Closed.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Havana-Exit-Closed-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Havana Exit Closed\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5869\" \/><\/a>It was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.9news.com\/story\/news\/traffic\/2015\/08\/12\/i-70-ramp--close-until-january-2016\/31536811\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recently announced<\/a> that the Havana St. exit off of I-70 would undergo construction beginning this week and would not reopen until late this January.  Crews will be working to demolish and repair a bridge.  The announcement didn\u2019t surprise any Stapleton residents.  \u201cYou mean, it wasn\u2019t already <a href=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/posts\/construction-cones-on-havana-st-exit-gain-historic-landmark-status\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">under construction<\/a>?\u201d asked resident Adam Hanlon.  \u201cThat street is always having slows and closures, and if that\u2019s not going on, you get stuck by the train.\u201d  Zach Crowley has had a similar experience with Havana.  \u201cWhenever I go down there, there seems to be something going on with the lights, or the roads, or the exits.  It\u2019s always a <a href=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/posts\/havana-exit-offers-scenic-detour-through-commerce-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mess<\/a>.\u201d\nWhat\u2019s not yet known is the traffic effect the construction will have on <a href=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/posts\/havana-st-not-just-a-through-street-anymore\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">residential Stapleton<\/a>.  \u201cIt may end up being good,\u201d said resident Joel Murphy.  \u201cI live on Havana, so I wouldn\u2019t mind a little less traffic <a href=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/posts\/speed-bumps-to-adorn-stapleton-through-streets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">speeding through to Aurora<\/a>.\u201d  Fulton residents were less excited about the temporary closure.  \u201cWe already have people using our street as a raceway to Aurora,\u201d said Fulton St. resident Laura Strassburg.  \u201cNow, there\u2019s a chance that may double?
