{"id":531,"date":"2011-05-22T22:20:59","date_gmt":"2011-05-23T05:20:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/?p=531"},"modified":"2011-05-22T22:20:59","modified_gmt":"2011-05-23T05:20:59","slug":"forrest-city-taking-less-sub-more-urb-slogan-to-whole-new-level","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/?p=531","title":{"rendered":"Forrest City Taking \u201cLess Sub, More Urb\u201d Slogan to Whole New Level"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<![CDATA[<a href=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/riots.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-532\" title=\"riots\" src=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/riots.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"499\" \/><\/a>\nForrest City\u2019s classic Stapleton ad slogan, \u201cLess Sub, More Urb\u201d was once clever, but now has become too much for local residents.\u00a0 Recently the development company shipped in some street hooligans from Detroit to stage a riot in the town center to give Stapleton that \u201ccity feel.\u201d\u00a0 Forrest City President Phil Dargossi believes this is a necessary step to portray the image they are looking for.\u00a0 \u201cThere are a lot of developments that promise an urban feel, but never deliver,\u201d says Dargossi.\u00a0 \u201cWe are prepared to do whatever it takes, and that includes fabricating and creating street riots.\u201d\n<!--more-->The riots were at first amusing to residents, but quickly became annoying.\u00a0 \u201cWe just wanted to go to Chipotle for dinner, but the riots would not end,\u201d said resident Kristi Artz.\u00a0 \u201cI mean, someone threw a flaming brick at us.\u00a0 That\u2019s just a little over the top.\u201d\u00a0 Dargossi was actually hoping for more from the hooligans.\u00a0 \u201cWe were really looking for more overturned vehicles, however, we grossly overestimated the ease of turning over mini-vans and SUV\u2019s.\u201d\nDargossi says that this is just the beginning of bringing an urban feel to Stapleton, as the Forrest City staff has several more ideas.\u00a0 \u201cOne of the things we are looking at is simply removing all of the \u2018no direct access to Aurora\u2019 signs.\u2019\u00a0 This could bring the city feel we are looking for.\u201d\u00a0 Other things Forrest City is considering include getting some of the teenage street \u201cperformers\u201d from the 16<sup>th<\/sup> street mall and paying them to hang out in the town center, as well as getting a smog machine to pump out some extra smog.\u00a0 There is one thing the residents are excited about, however.\u00a0 \u201cI heard they were considering buying the Broncos from Denver.\u00a0 It would be nice to have a pro sports team in Stapleton, even if it is the Broncos,\u201d said Artz.\u00a0 Stapleton residents should be prepared for anything as this community continues to urbanize itself.]]>\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<![CDATA[]]>\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_coblocks_attr":"","_coblocks_dimensions":"","_coblocks_responsive_height":"","_coblocks_accordion_ie_support":"","_genesis_hide_title":false,"_genesis_hide_breadcrumbs":false,"_genesis_hide_singular_image":false,"_genesis_hide_footer_widgets":false,"_genesis_custom_body_class":"","_genesis_custom_post_class":"","_genesis_layout":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[108],"tags":[],"class_list":{"0":"post-531","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-issue-5","7":"entry"},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/531","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=531"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/531\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=531"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=531"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=531"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
