Whether it is parking and waiting at Coors Field, or driving to some distant location to get a decent look at the firework displays across the city. And then there are the dads who have a strong interest in pyrotechnics and prefer to create the firework displays all on their own. The major benefit of this is not having to go anywhere, and usually, kids are just as impressed with these backyard displays as they are with the grand fireworks shows put on by the city or local sports teams.

“We have been doing it for about five years now,” said drunk Stapleton dad and firework enthusiast Brian May. “I go buy a bunch of really good stuff across the border in Wyoming. Then, everyone kind of has some of their random stuff and we start early lighting off the little stuff, and eventually, we have a big show over at the local pocket park.” May said that he didn’t think any of the fireworks were very dangerous. “None of them would be illegal if you were firing them off over international waters.”
Although the majority of residents enjoy and even participate in these local displays, not everyone appreciates them. “I know they are just trying to have a good time,” said concerned resident Jenny Steiner. “But there are a lot of things that could go wrong. Young children are close by, and some of us simply don’t like the noise.” Steiner also is worried about the fire danger. “I know the fire station is close by, but if a house caught fire in this neighborhood, an entire borough could be wiped out.”
“I think we have done a pretty good job of keeping things safe,” said May. “The important thing is that myself and the other dads have a great time lighting crap off and the kids love it. We even had four year olds lighting off roman candles.” The backyard Stapleton firework displays seem to be a big hit and it seems they will continue for many years.

[118

0":"post-3802","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-issue-59","7":"entry
["GET
