\t\t\t\t\"\"<\/a>Hollywood, CA \u2013 In a press conference held on April 19th George A. Romero, who has written and directed the Night of the Living Dead films announced that the latest film in the Series will be filmed at the Stapleton King Soopers<\/a>.\n\n\u201cWe have been looking for a location for our next film after Survival of the Dead that combined a high number of local hotties whom we can cast as extras with some dark, stressful energy that would come through in the film.\u201d\nThe Stapleton King Soopers<\/a> wasn\u2019t even on the list of possible locales for Day of the Shopping Dead until Romero was visiting family here and had to make a quick – or so he thought – trip to shop for some items for a family dinner.\n\u201cYou know, I thought you guys had a Whole Foods or Sprouts here, or at least a supermarket that would be similar to a Whole Foods<\/a> \u2013 you know being this is Colorado and all. I was in this store and at first, I was like, \u2018You call this organic?!\u2019 and I kept thinking this is so post-apocalyptic \u2013 with people wandering around just like the zombies in my movies.\u201d\nApparently Romero was able to spend considerable time in the store as he was in search of a few items including American cheese slices for some grilled cheese sandwiches. After a 17-minute search, he did find the cheese slices tucked away in the far back corner by the yogurt.\n\u201cThis is frustrating and great at the same time. I mean \u2013 it takes so damn long to find stuff here and there\u2019s nobody here to help, so no wonder everybody looks pissed \u2013 not to mention this place is wall-to-wall people<\/a> and shopping carts. All we\u2019re going to need to do is get a little bit of makeup on some of the people who shop here to make them look a little bit more dead. We can then just let them wander and shop like they normally do and we can start filming.\u201d\nWhile Romero did note the dark, depressing energy of our overcrowded market, he did also notice how fit and good looking shoppers are. \u201cObviously a key ingredient to our movies is that we have attractive people in them, and your neighborhood and this store has a bunch of great looking men and women<\/a> who will make great extras for this movie. I\u2019m sure they look normal in other places they go. For the movie though, this is perfect.\u201d\nOne problem Romero mentioned was the occasional group of King Soopers\u2019 employees who may be standing around potentially interfering with filming. \u201cYep, I did notice that occasionally you do have some of these King Soopers<\/a> people just standing in the aisles chatting each other up like they are in a park or on the street or something \u2013 not helping customers. This may get in the way of filming in some cases, but we do also have oblivious bystanders in our movies \u2013 it makes the scenes more real \u2013 and we should be able to include these people in our new movie. They seem pretty checked out, so I don\u2019t think they\u2019ll really notice us.\u201d\nFilming for Day of the Shopping Dead will begin this October. Audition and casting dates and locations will be announced this summer.\n]]>\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
