From the pocket park rules, to the turtle signs reminding you to slow down, to the city finally acknowledging MLK Jr. Dr. appropriately. Recently, a new rash of signs have been spotted that are sparking some controversy.

“I understand that Stapleton has a problem with unruly children, and people should be warned,” says resident Justin Schmit. “What I don’t necessarily agree with is investing in all of these signs when resources should be getting put into making these children better. That’s what I am concerned with.”
Many residents agree that the signs are just a short-term fix, and much has to be done to address the situation. “We know that the signs don’t fix the problem (bad kids),” says SUN President Mike Victoria. “But, in the interim, while we are looking for solutions, people must be warned. We certainly have an obligation to our community and visitors of the community.”
The “Caution Children” signs are already posted at every elementary school, most pocket parks, and even some places in Quebec Square. “We have seen a lot of bad things go on here, which is not good for business,” says Quebec Square property manager Jennifer Gerbracht. “All of these kids causing trouble is not good for the bottom line of the local businesses, so we at least had to put these signs up, which will hopefully let the kids know we have an eye on them.”
A SUN sub-committee is looking into ways it can help kids’ behavior. One option is opening up the possibility that all kids be exposed to the local re-education chamber when they behave poorly. “That is just one option we are looking at right now,” says Victoria. “We were hoping that parents could turn things around, but it looks like once again, the entire community will have to step up for the parents that are failing us.”

[107

0":"post-3215","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-issue-49","7":"entry
["GET
