\t\t\t\t\"\"<\/a>The Stapleton schools have recently suffered a massive head lice infestation which has drastically changed the course of the lives of 14 local students. The Westerly Creek nurse\u2019s office unintentionally leaked the names of over a dozen of the students infected with the friend-killing disease, forever ruining the chances of those students becoming popular at their school.\n\u201cIt was really an unfortunate incident,\u201d said Westerly Creek Principal Laura Plakke. \u201cWe are doing everything we can do contain the situation, and of course, make sure it never happens again.\u201d Westerly Creek comes into this new controversy on the heels of the lip syncing scandal<\/a>. The school is in complete damage-control mode and has recently hired Colorado PR powerhouse Fitzgerald-Petersen Communications<\/a>.\n\u201cWe have already spoken with the families of the 14 students,\u201d says Principal Plakke. \u201cOn the advice of Fitzgerald-Petersen, we have offered them a compensation package which includes an X-Box, some candy, and the option to change classes or transfer to another elementary school with no penalty. We have also included all of the appropriate information should any of the children want to change their names.\u201d\nParents of the 14 students have kept their silence on the subject, but the lawyer for the families issued the following statement. \u201cThese 14 families have been through an extremely emotional and trying situation. They first find out their child has lice, and of course, have to do all of the necessary cleaning at home. Then, they find out that their kid\u2019s opportunities in school have been extremely compromised. We are in contact with the school and its agencies to see the best path for each individual family.\u201d\nWesterly Creek is just hoping the whole thing will all go away soon. \u201cIt has been a very tough winter for our school,\u201d said Principal Plakke. \u201cI wake up each morning hoping the whole thing is just a nightmare, but it\u2019s not.\u201d No, it is not a nightmare, but it is every day for those 14 kids. ]]>\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
