\t\t\t\t\"\"<\/a>After almost a three decade struggle, the committee in charge of relegating \u201creally fun age\u201d status to children succumbed to the pressure of thousands of parents giving six to eight month olds the coveted status. \u201cMy daughter is now 23,\u201d says Barbara Miller who was one of the thousands of parents petitioning for years to change the status. \u201cI still remember when she was that age, and people saying that it was \u2018kind of a tough age\u2019 but I always thought it was really fun. So, I joined the fight.\u201d\n\nFor many parents, the long struggle was worth it. \u201cI know it was a long time ago now,\u201d says Nicki Boesen, mother of three teenagers. \u201cBut it was always frustrating having people question how great my kids were at that age. They were really fun.\u201d Obviously, thousands of protesting parents agree with Nicki.\nHowever, not everyone is a fan of the newest status change for this group of kids. \u201cIt seems like in this PC society of \u2018everyone gets a trophy\u2019 we have to agree that everything is great,\u201d says parent and Progressive Realist Davis Bean. \u201cI mean, they didn\u2019t do a lot at that age. Okay, you smiled. Here\u2019s your blue ribbon. Ridiculous.\u201d Some protestors of the change are already creating a new movement to reverse the decision.\nFor now, the status remains says committee chairman Steve Richmond. \u201cThere are always protests trying to get \u2018really fun age\u2019 status relegated to any age,\u201d says Richmond. \u201cHeck, some have even started a movement to get tweens relegated as \u2018really fun age.\u2019 We listen to people\u2019s voices, and in the end, make an educated decision on how kids are at each stage in their lives.\u201d On behalf of chairman Richmond, congratulations six to eight month olds.
