{"id":2190,"date":"2012-06-12T19:30:58","date_gmt":"2012-06-13T02:30:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/?p=2190"},"modified":"2012-06-12T19:30:58","modified_gmt":"2012-06-13T02:30:58","slug":"forrest-city-response-to-s-w-e-e-p-nothing-more-urban-than-airport-debris","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/?p=2190","title":{"rendered":"Forrest City Response to S.W.E.E.P:  \u201cNothing More Urban Than Airport Debris\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<![CDATA[<a href=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Screen-shot-2012-05-30-at-9.26.51-PM1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Screen-shot-2012-05-30-at-9.26.51-PM1-300x188.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"Screen shot 2012-05-30 at 9.26.51 PM\" width=\"300\" height=\"188\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2222\" \/><\/a>\nRecently, the Stapleton organization <a href=\"http:\/\/stapleton-denver-dump.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">S.W.E.E.P<\/a> (Stapletonians Want Environmental Earnestness Pronto) has caused quite a stir with its complaints about airport debris near one of the Stapleton boroughs.  \u201cWe were promised green parks all over Stapleton,\u201d says S.W.E.E.P leader Kim Tiedt.  \u201cWhat we got is a bunch of concrete and garbage right in our neighborhood.\u201d\n<!--more-->\nForrest City President Phil Dargossi fired back.  \u201cOne of our biggest and most successful campaigns was \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/stapletonion.com\/posts\/forrest-city-taking-%E2%80%9Cless-sub-more-urb%E2%80%9D-slogan-to-whole-new-level\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Less Sub and More Urb<\/a>\u2019&#8221; said Dargossi.  If you don\u2019t want the \u2018Urb\u2019 move to Highlands Ranch.\u201d\n\u201cI think Dargossi\u2019s definition of urban and Stapleton residents\u2019 definition of urban differ significantly,\u201d said Tiedt.  \u201cWe were thinking houses close together, some street fights, but random broken concrete in areas where there are supposed to be parks?  Not what we had in mind.\u201d\nDargossi thinks there can be a peaceful resolution.  \u201cAlthough we disagree that the airport debris is bad for the neighborhood, we are looking at some options for compromise.  We are looking into creating \u2018urban\u2019 playgrounds with all of the junk.  We would probably get rid of the toxic chemical drums, or at least seal them.\u201d\nThat won\u2019t be enough for S.W.E.E.P.  \u201cUntil we can actually see prairie dogs thriving like you can in the rest of Stapleton open space, we will not be satisfied,\u201d says Tiedt.
