\t\t\t\t\"\"<\/a>\nIn a controversial move, the Stapleton MCA has agreed to allow Aurora Fox to perform the cult classic, A Clockwork Orange for one of the summer theatre showings. \u201cFor all of the violence in the book and subsequent Kubric film, it does have some important social commentary,\u201d says MCA President Liza Kampstra. \u201cIt asks some important questions in regards to rehabilitating violent criminals.\u201d\nSome residents are concerned that the violence and overall content is way too strong and complex for the young viewers that attend the Theatre on the Green. \u201cI am not arguing that A Clockwork Orange has its place in the annals of film history,\u201d says concerned resident Lisa Stone. \u201cIt is just way too violent for the age of the children that will be attending these events. Typically, we would expect material that is much more light-hearted.\u201d\n\nAuroa Fox Theatre spokesperson Steve Farrell disagrees. \u201cWhen is it too early to start challenging the thoughts of our youth,\u201d asks Farrell. \u201cMany of us saw violent movies as kids and we turned out fine. Maybe we didn\u2019t get fancy college degrees, or decent paying jobs, but overall, we remained unaffected.\u201d\nA Clockwork Orange is expected to show on June 9th on the Green. Theatre-goers should expect extreme violence and complicated subject matter, and should leave children under the age of five at home.
