Iowa 80, world’s largest truck stop, is coming to an intersection in Stapleton. “Central Park Boulevard and Montview Boulevard is the perfect location for this type of a business,” says Forest City President Phil Dargossi. “We have been waiting for an anchor to build out this prime land and now we’ve got it. What’s better is that because the truck stop is so large we do not even need any other businesses, we will be able to fill the entire stretch of land east of CPB all the way to Digstown, that silly doggie day care. Who knows, perhaps the dogs can relocate and we can expand the truck stop.”
The Stapletonion also met with the spokesperson for the truck stop, which will be called Stapleton 20, because they will be able to fit (18) 18-wheelers and (2) road trains up to 80’ long. Mike Victoria says, “we couldn’t be more excited about this wonderful opportunity. This location is only 2.5 miles from I-70 and when Central Park Boulevard is finally connected to the interstate it will become a natural route for the trucks. The semi-trailers will be able to make their stops at Wal-mart and Sam’s Club, which we have heard are two of Stapleton’s favorite shopping places, and then make their way straight south to fill up their tanks, get a good wash down, and stay the night during those cross country trips”
Victoria added, “we are also aware of the community’s commitment to the environment. This is why we are planning a huge event for Earth Day. Every resident who brings their truck for a wash will receive a free fill up. Oil is our Earth’s most precious resource and we want to acknowledge that by supporting Stapleton and say thank you to our planet”.
Resident Chris Zarifis is thrilled to hear this. “I can never fit in any of those automated car washes, my Chevy Suburban with two roof boxes and bike hitch in the back will finally get her first wash. Plus, I’m definitely coming by to get my 31 gal of free gas on Earth Day. Breckenridge, here I come!” So when will this new piece of heaven open up? Construction will start at the end of February and the truckers should be here in June. Don’t miss the Grand Opening Celebration where you will be able to get free donuts and coffee from the stop’s very own convenience store adjacent to the Pizza Hut and Taco Bell. A smaller version of the authentic Super Truck Showroom will have trucks for kids to climb into. Hold onto your hats ‘cause this place will be rocking.

[82

0":"post-1834","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-issue-26","7":"entry
["GET
