\t\t\t\t\"\"<\/a>\nOn January 27th, Stapleton experienced a first: someone made a complete stop at a neighborhood stop sign. At approximately 11:32AM, a driver was driving south on Fulton St. towards 26th. The intersection is similar to several 4-way stops in Stapleton. As the driver approached the sign, he slowed his vehicle as everyone else does. However, he then did something completely unexpected.\n\u201cI was waiting for him just to keep on going,\u201d says eyewitness Kristina McKissen. \u201cHowever, he came to a complete stop, looked right at me, and waited for me to go as I was rolling through my stop sign. It kind of freaked me out and I had to pull over for a minute.\u201d\n\nAnother eyewitness, runner Lara Jepsen, confirms what McKissen saw. \u201cIt was the strangest thing I had ever seen,\u201d says Jepsen. \u201cI have lived here for five years, and I have never seen anyone even come close to stopping at a stop sign.\u201d\nNot much is known about the unidentified driver, except that he was a male, roughly 35 to 45 years of age, and driving alone in a white SUV, possibly a Toyota Forerunner. \u201cEven though he made the stop, I didn\u2019t get that great of a look at him,\u201d says McKissen. \u201cIt happened really slow, but it seemed to happen so fast.\u201d\nJepsen did not have any more information. \u201cIt didn\u2019t really register what I had seen until I was 50 yards passed the intersection,\u201d says Jepsen. \u201cBy then, he was already gone.\u201d If you have more information on the driver, please contact the MCA so that the driver may be appropriately awarded with a yet to be determined merit award. ]]>\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
