Of the less than a dozen or so protestors turned campers that showed up daily, signs changed every day which included the following slogans:\n\n\n<ul>\n\t\n\n<li>Evenly distributed pools in Denver<\/li>\n\n\n\t\n\n<li>Just because you live in Stapleton, doesn\u2019t mean you deserve higher taxes<\/li>\n\n\n\t\n\n<li>All Denver parks should have the worlds thickest grass<\/li>\n\n\n\t\n\n<li>Stapleton:\u00a0 the rich, the entitled, the foreclosed<\/li>\n\n\n\t\n\n<li>Free concerts and movies everywhere.\u00a0 Not just Stapleton<\/li>\n\n\n\t\n\n<li>Nuke the whales<!--more--><\/li>\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\nStacy Bukatz had her own reasons. \u201cWe are trying to draw attention to the lack of fairness in this world. Why should these people get to be middle class?\u201d\u00a0 Although Stapleton does have some upper class and upper middle class citizens, it does remain a mostly middle-class neighborhood, which is unfair to some. \u201cNot everyone gets to work for whitey in a cubicle for forty hours a week in a job they hate so they can support their families,\u201d says Bukatz. \u201cI want that American dream.\u201d\nSome Stapleton residents disagree with this philosophy and stopped just short of saying they would trade places with the protestors. \u201cHey, I love my life,\u201d says Andy Gustafson. \u201cBut, when I was poor and renting a place in Wash Park, my life was a blast. And so damn easy.\u201d\nThe protestors were closely watched by more than a dozen police officers to keep Stapleton residents safe. After four days, no television coverage, and no new protestors, the protestors packed up and left.
