\t\t\t\t\"\"<\/a>\nBrian Meeter, 7 years old, was excited to start at his new school and meet some new friends.\u00a0 He had been going to a private school, and now was going to start attending a public school where friends from Stapleton were attending.\u00a0 That excitement quickly turned to horror when new classmate Todd Rewalt noticed his Star Wars backpack appeared to be a little too worn.\n\u201cIt\u2019s all in the stitching,\u201d said Todd.\u00a0 \u201cIt was a pack that you could get at Target today, but you could tell, if you looked closely, that the stitching was a little worn, and the stormtroopers were in the sun a little too long.\u201d\u00a0 The word spread quickly due to Todd’s and his friends’ diligence. \u201cWe can\u2019t have a new kid up in here, trying to act like he\u2019s one of us immediately and have an old backpack. Just not cool.\u201d\nAt first Brian tried to convince the kids that it was not an old backpack, but that just made matters worse. More attention was drawn to it, and the teacher even said, \u201cOkay everyone, let\u2019s stop making fun of Brian\u2019s old backpack.\u201d Brian spent recess and lunch sitting alone, without his backpack.\nMore than likely he will be getting a new backpack within the first 20 minutes he gets home, but these scars will take time to heal.\u00a0 Much more time than it would take to stitch up an old backpack.]]>\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
