A new town center for Conservatory Green will consist of four car washes, Forest City announced. “This exciting new plan serves our mission of bringing Stapleton residents exactly what we promised,” said Forest City Spokesperson Janelle Ayers. “We understand residents are looking for exciting, locally owned businesses that build community, provide appealing retail options, and let Conservatory Green residents avoid a two-mile trip south just to get their cars clean.”
The town center, Forest City elaborated, will include one car wash with organic supplies, one with locally built parts, an artisanal wash using hemp-based cloth, and an innovative waterless non-electric car wash that saves natural resources by not actually cleaning your car. “This is so disappointing,” Conservatory Green resident Richele Hall angrily posted on Facebook; “I moved here in reliance on vague, not-yet-executed hints that Forest City would provide the exact sort of town center I want, with a large children’s bookstore, a coffee shop using only organic GMO-free fair-trade locally-grown beans, and a small children’s bookstore because my principles don’t let me shop at large bookstores.” Resident Mike Roberts was also hoping for a more robust town center. “I really thought we would be getting a little café of sorts, or maybe a small patio bar with only microbrew beer. Although I am not thrilled to have car washes, at least we have choices.”
