Forest City to Deal with Flying Pigs Prior to Breaking Ground at Eastbridge Town Center

June 3, 2015 by admin

flying_pigsAt the May 19th SUN meeting, Forest City President Phil Dargossi stated, “The Evergreen (Eastbridge Retail) project won’t happen without King Soopers.” According to Dargossi, King Soopers is definitely going in, but there are a few things Forest City needs to take care of prior to breaking ground. “We have noticed, and most certainly many of you have noticed, the situation with the flying pigs,” said Dargossi. “We will not begin the Eastbridge retail project until we essentially clear the air of all these flying pigs. They are not good for residents and they are not good for business.” Dargossi’s comments caused a lot of confusion at the SUN meeting, prompting attendee Paul Miller to ask, “I don’t think I follow you, and it seems a lot of people here are also confused. Did you say, ‘flying pigs?’” Dargossi confidently followed up with his earlier comments. “That’s right, flying pigs. They are a problem, and until we get them cleared up, we will not begin building. But, I assure all of you, we will eradicate these pests and get to building this project you all have been so excited about for so long.” Another Stapleton attendee Leah Gregory again followed up. “This is crazy. You are saying that flying pigs are the reason you continue to delay the Evergreen Project? That’s nonsense.” Dargossi assured everyone the problem is very real. “Whether or not you have seen the flying pigs is irrelevant. There are flying pigs, and we need to deal with that issue.” Dargossi says Forest City hopes to have the pigs dealt with by late August so they can stay on schedule. “We are hoping to break ground this fall,” said Dargossi. “That would put us on schedule to be ready for open in the fall of 2016. The pig issue is our top priority, I assure you.” Dargossi says he is “very confident” things will get moving this fall. That is, of course, until Forest City realizes Hell is freezing over, and they will have to deal with that.]]>
