Stapleton Family Refuses to Participate in Being “Booed”

November 4, 2014 by admin

Screen Shot 2014-11-04 at 10.09.55 PMIf you live in Stapleton, there is a good chance that you were “Booed” during this Halloween season. For most, it’s a chance to get festive and do some fun things with your kids, and anonymously deliver candy to neighborhood kids. However, some people are not fans of the new tradition. “I think it is silly,” said resident Tom Rudel. “Why do I want to give someone else a chore? Not to mention, something so unproductive. You’re just putting candy in a bag and giving it to children. They are going to be getting so much candy at Halloween. Why not challenge them to do 20 push-ups a night until Halloween?” Other residents agree. “Do we really need one more thing to stress about during Halloween?,” asks Michelle Stagemeyer. “We seem to be one of the last people to get this every year, so it takes us hours to find two houses who haven’t been booed. It’s quite annoying.” Stapleton resident Jessica Alesch takes it to a whole new level. “We got booed and I simply kept the candy, and put the sign on our door,” said Alesch. “The chain ends with me. I am not going to be part of the problem. I am a solution person. Why give someone’s kids candy, and then give them a chore to do? What’s next? Dropping off my dry cleaning at random peoples’ houses or giving them my grocery list? Sorry, but this is a tradition I am not getting behind. Call me boo hum bug if you want, but that’s the way it is going to be.” Alesch hopes to be on top of things next year, and hopes to help out other families annoyed by this “tradition.” “Next year, I plan to post a link to the booed site on my Facebook page. That way, people who don’t want to take part in it, just have to post the sign on their door to ward off any would be boo-ers.” ]]>
