80238 Denver’s Most Desirable ZIP Code—But We Already Knew That

November 4, 2014 by admin

most desirable ZIPAccording to data from Movoto, Westword recently reported that the 80238 ZIP in Denver is the most desirable. Factors used in the study included median household income, average commute time, median house worth, and families below the poverty line, among other data points. Of course, this data isn’t new information to Stapleton residents or real estate agents. “Aside from just living here and knowing how great it is, houses don’t stay on the market very long,” says resident Nicole Lance. “And usually the people moving, simply move to another Stapleton house.” Other residents agree. “Of course, we get teased a lot,” says Angela Fisher. “But the truth is, everyone secretly wants to live here.” Many people think that the ranking could have been higher had other factors come into play. “I mean, how were elementary schools not considered?” asks Jeremy Miller. “That is an extremely important part of a community, and we have the best elementary schools. Not to mention park space. We have great park space as well.” Other things not included were crime statistics, fitness and health, and hotness of moms. “Clearly, had mom hotness been included as it should have, Stapleton would have been number one overall,” states Blake Potter. “It is such an important factor, and should always be included in these ‘best of’ statistics.” As it is, 80238 was ranked 252 out of 28,061 ZIP codes (out of roughly 43,000 US ZIP codes), putting Stapleton in the top 1%. “That’s pretty good, but obviously, there is room for improvement,” says Ellen Jay. “I know Stapleton people, and we will do what it takes to be number one.” Before everyone gets too excited about making corrections to the fine Stapleton community, understand that these types of rankings are not perfect. So imperfect, in fact, the following cities were in the top ten: Houston, TX (#3), Wichita, KS (#9), and Kansas City, MO (#10). A recent poll in Houston shows that 97% of people living in Houston would prefer to live anywhere else. There was a 3% margin of error. ]]>
