The owners and management of the new 711 were so excited to move into the Stapleton community and please the residents that they agreed to any and every suggestion from Stapletonians. The new 711 will not allow 3.2 beer, but will allow 5.0 beer from microbreweries, provided they are from the state of Colorado, and they are priced no less than $15 per six pack. “We feel that the customer is always right,” said regional manager Andy Hill. “Although we have never ever had this much community involvement in opening a convenience store, we will do our best to not disrupt the lives of the great people of Stapleton. In fact, we want to make it better.”
Hill believes that the gas demand alone will make the new 711 a profitable business. “Gas gets people to our store, and then if we can upsell some other items, good for everyone,” said Hill. Items in the new 711 obviously won’t have Hostess products, but there will be other products missing that are normally found in 711’s across the country. “We will not offer our hot dogs or burritos,” said Hill. “A lot of the residents said that seeing those items was a turn off, so not to provide them.” The new 711 will offer an entire line of organic foods, and will have a small farmers market in the summer and fall so people can pay cash for some items while pumping their gas.
“We know that the Stapleton residents are willing to pay for quality,” said Hill. “And we plan to give them our very best.” Other changes are in the works including but not limited to:
- Small playground for young children to play on while parents are pumping gas
- Designer sunglasses including Salvatore, Persol, and Fendi
- Free WiFi
- Largest fountain drink offering will be 12 ounces
- Electronics such as iPhones, iPads, and Garmins
- High quality area rugs
- Gift certificate offerings will include Nordstroms, Tiffanys, Lord & Taylor, and Bloomingdales
